Partners :
Indo Ocean Project is a marine research and conservation program in the heart of the coral triangle. Our field expeditions in Indonesia hosts international and local research projects on marine mega fauna conservation efforts including sharks, rays, turtles, and sunfish. We are constantly seeking hardworking and enthusiastic people who take part in our research diver-training program and join the research team. Our project relies on the experience and expertise of our volunteers from around the world.
New Heaven Reef Conservation Program
The New Heaven Reef Conservation Program (NHRCP) was founded in 2007 by Conservation Diver founder Chad Scott, New Heaven Dive School manager Devrim Zahir and owner p’Kaen Zahir, to teach divers about coral reef ecology, research, and restoration.
Our education and certification program is designed to give participants a hands-on approach to learning about the coral reef environment and a wide range of research and restoration techniques used by professionals around the world.
Pioneers of citizen sailing oceanography : where ocean health research meets sail power. With the help of cruisers world-wide we can collect vast amounts of data and establish a baseline understanding of ocean health in a holistic and comprehensive way. This will allow for better protection and help raise awareness about this very precious resource. Indigo V Expedition is the working prototype for this concept for what we call ‘citizen sailor science’.
“We have created a platform where we are able to raise conservation awareness to our local communities and to encourage people to start talking more mindfully about real environmental issues we are currently facing on our very own doorstep! By committing ourselves to start connecting people with nature by supporting global organizations through our Eco-friendly clothing, we want you to make change happen.”
Coral reefs are among the planet’s oldest, most productive, and most diverse ecosystems. But, they are also one of the most threatened. Our aim is to increase the capacity and skillsets of local managers and divers around the globe to empower a new generation of action oriented conservationists. Through training courses we are giving people from many different backgrounds the knowledge to initiate action, and through our networks helping those who want to make a difference join up and realize their goals.
